He lights up the screen with his charisma and screen-presence. He is phenomenal as Kiara’s life mentor and slips into the character with utmost ease and conviction. In terms of performances, inspite a limited screen-time, Shah Rukh Khan delivers the most likeable performance in the film. After a point, the film gets too preachy and tries too hard to establish the phrase ‘life is all about living those small moments’. Unfortunately, such moments are far and few in between. A few life lessons (Don’t let your past blackmail your present to ruin your beautiful future) are worth pondering over. ‘Dear Zindagi’ does have some brilliantly executed sequences which include Alia’s first interaction with Shah Rukh Khan, her emotional break-down at a family dinner recalling her disturbed childhood.

Average Rating of All 'Dear Zindagi' Review - 3 stars From the 18 reviews that we have so far, the average critic rating is 2.9 stars. But the way the movie was made, it was quite disappointing and could have been a lot better.‘Dear Zindagi’ has received mixed to good reviews from critics. Gauri Shinde’s direction was a good effort, but probably not as good as her previous film “English Vinglish.”Īll the positive points of the film, such as the inspiring quotes, the beautiful cinematography, Alia’s performance etc. Even Shah Rukh Khan and the other actors did a good job too. Her performance is something you should watch out for. The movie would have been a masterpiece if the movie just stuck to its main storyline.Īlia Bhatt, who is one of the finest actresses in the generation, has proved it again that she is versatile and can act. The movie had a simple storyline, but to come to the main point, they kept on dragging. There were so many scenes in the movie which were unnecessary. The music totally fits into the movie’s storyline.īut what I was mainly upset about was the plot. They captured the beauty of Goa wonderfully.
#Dear zindagi movie scenes driver
“Agar hum apni zindagi ka steering wheel apne haath mein nahi lenge na … toh koi doosra driver seat par baith jayega” (If we don’t take the steering wheel of our life in our own hands … then someone else will sit on the driver’s seat) “We are all our own teachers in the school of life” “Jab hum apne aap ko achchi tarah samajh lete hai … toh doosre kya samajhte hai, it doesn’t matter … not at all” (When we understand ourselves well enough … then it doesn’t matter what others think about us … not at all) “Kabhi kabhi hum mushkil rasta sirf is liye chunte hai … kyun ki humein lagta hai, important cheezein paane ke liye humein mushkil rasta apnana chahiye … apne aap ko punish karna bahut zaroori samajhte hai … but why, aasaan rasta kyun nahi chun sakte … kya burai hai us mein … khaas karke jab us mushkil ka saamna karne ke liye hum taiyaar hi nahi hai” (Sometimes we choose a difficult path only because … we feel that to attain important things we need to choose a difficult path … we think that it’s important to punish ourselves … but why can’t we choose a simple path … what’s wrong with that … especically when we are not ready to face that difficult path) “Don’t let the past blackmail your present … to ruin a beautiful future” The movie has some wonderful dialogues that are inspiring and would make you feel just good about yourself. Mental Health is a serious issue and it is not an easy thing to go through. For someone who has gone through anxiety many times, I can totally understand, relate and feel for all that Kaira (Alia Bhatt) went through in the film. The movie does a good job handling Mental Health issues. Then there are some movies like “Dear Zindagi”, which fits in the middle category i.e memorable, understanding but could have been better. There are some good movies and there are some bad movies.
